Charlie Stewart
Charlie Stewart
Charlie has heard the calling of the outdoors from the time he was a little boy. With John Muir as his childhood hero, he had good role models and he developed a deep commitment to conservation and preservation as his adventuring spirit brought him more and more to the reverence of the woods. As a distinguished Eagle Scout he looked forward most to the times he could reconnect with the outdoors on hiking and backpacking adventure trips.
Relocating north for a Boston education, Charlie discovered the White Mountains even before he moved to New Hampshire full time in 1988. He has hiked all of New Hampshire’s 4000 footers many times and has helped many hikers to complete their “list”. He has hiked the Long Trail in Vermont, out west in the Badlands, Yellowstone and Grand Teton, and he has hiked the Haute Route which runs 170 miles from Mont Blanc in France to the Matterhorn in Switzerland many times, leading that trip now annually as a guide.
Charlie is certified in Wilderness First Aid and is a member of the Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team.
Charlie’s passion for the outdoors is only surpassed by his desire to share what the wilderness has taught him and so he created this guiding service, after years of doing it for pleasure, to help teach and promote wilderness stewardship while teaching hikers all they need to know to reconnect their spirit with the great outdoors.
